Books are the gateway to a child’s imagination. They’ll love having their favorite stories so easily accessible with these adorable bookends.

  • 2 – 5-inch by 5-inch wooden square plaques
  • 8 – 5/8-inch unfinished wood candle cups
  • Wood glue
  • Paint
  • Brush
  • Self-adhesive round plastic bumpers (we used 1 1/2 packages)
  • Alphabet blocks

Using wood glue, attach 4 unfinished wood candle cups to underside of each wooden square plaque and let dry completely. Paint the bases, let dry completely, then repeat with additional coats of paint, if necessary.

Once paint is dry, attach round plastic bumpers to the bottom of each candle cup foot. Begin attaching alphabet blocks to the base in a pyramid-style pattern using wood glue. Attach three additional blocks to one corner of the base, in an ABC arrangement, using wood glue, if desired. Allow wood glue to dry completely.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Use bigger wooden plaques and additional blocks to make larger bookends.
