BEADED LANYARD JEWELRY

Let the creativity soar with this summer camp-inspired jewelry. With nearly every color under the sun as an option, the possibilities are endless.

Supplies:

  • Plastic lacing
  • Beads (we used wood ones)
  • Scissors
  • Super glue (optional)

Directions:

For necklaces:

Using scissors, cut two pieces of plastic lacing. For necklace with space between beads, cut each piece twice the length of the desired finished product. For necklace with no space between beads, cut each piece three times the length of the desired finished product.

Slide both pieces of lacing through a bead, placing the bead at the center. Loop one piece of lacing from one side over the bead and thread through, creating a backstitch. Repeat with one piece of lacing on the opposite side. Pull lacing to tighten. Continue with remaining beads until desired finished product is achieved, leaving a space in between beads, if desired.

Secure with a double knot. Place a small dab of super glue over knot, if desired. Let dry completely.

For bracelets:

Using scissors, cut two pieces of plastic lacing. For bracelet with space between beads, cut each piece six times the circumference of the wrist. For bracelet with no space between beads, cut each piece eight times the circumference of the wrist.

Slide both pieces of lacing through a bead, placing the bead at the center. Loop one piece of lacing from one side over the bead and thread through. Repeat with one piece of lacing on the opposite side. Pull lacing to tighten. Continue with remaining beads, until desired finished product is achieved, leaving a space in between beads, if desired.

Secure with a double knot. Place a small dab of super glue over knot, if desired. Let dry completely.

Enjoy!

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Be careful when selecting your beads to ensure that you have enough space to thread the plastic lacing through.
