COOKING WITH CHEF CHARLOTTE
These bite-sized apple pies are perfect for little chefs to help with. They’re kid-friendly, easy to make and, as Chef Charlotte says, “super yummy.”
Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 13 minutes
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 large apple
- Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
For the apple pies:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Core apple and cut into eight equal-size slices.
Open can of Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet and unroll dough onto cutting board. Cut dough into eight equal-size strips. Roll apple slice in cinnamon and sugar mixture and coat completely with mixture. Wrap dough strip around coated apple and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with remaining apple slices.
Combine egg and 2 tablespoons heavy cream in a small bowl to create egg wash. Brush onto apple pies. Bake until golden brown, about 13 minutes. Let cool.
For the glaze:
Combine powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons heavy cream in a small bowl. Drizzle glaze onto cooled apple pies.
CHEF CHARLOTTE TIP: These are super yummy with ice cream.
