This simple DIY allows you to customize your table or holiday display however your heart desires. Your baked goods have never looked better.

  • Plate or pie plate (we found these at our favorite antique store)
  • Wooden candlestick (we also found these at our favorite antique store)
  • Sandpaper
  • Paint
  • Brush
  • Primer
  • Varnish (optional)
  • Industrial strength adhesive

If painting the candlestick, lightly sand the entire surface with sandpaper then wipe with a damp cloth to remove any sawdust. Once dry, apply a coat of primer on the entire surface of the candlestick and allow it to dry completely. Once the primer has dried, paint the candlestick, let dry completely, then repeat with additional coats of paint, if necessary. If desired, apply a coat of varnish and let dry completely.

Using sandpaper, lightly sand the top of the candlestick and bottom of the plate so that the adhesive will adhere better. Place a generous amount of adhesive on the top of the candlestick and position the plate so that it sits evenly in the middle. Gently press the plate down and allow the adhesive to dry according to the package instructions.

STAY SAFE: Please ensure this DIY is done in a well-ventilated area.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: We suggest using a shorter candlestick with a heavy base to prevent the cake stand from tipping over.
