If you like candy corn as much as we do, than you’ll love this adorable pillow. Put on a scary movie, grab some popcorn and snuggle up.
- 8-by-18 inch pieces of polar fleece in white, orange and yellow (2 pieces of each color)
- Sewing machine
- White all-purpose thread
- Straight pins
- Rotary cutting mat
- Quilter’s ruler
- Rotary cutter
- 8 ounces dry polyester fiber fill
Place one orange piece of fleece on top of one white piece of fleece and stitch along one long side using a sewing machine, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Place one yellow piece of fleece on top of stitched orange piece and stitch along other long side of orange fleece using a sewing machine, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Repeat with remaining fleece, creating two separate pieces of stitched candy corn fabric.
Place the two stitched pieces together, right sides facing each other. Match stripes together and pin using straight pins.
Lay pinned fabric on rotary cutting mat. Using a quilter’s ruler or yardstick, measure from one bottom corner of yellow fleece to 8 1/2 inches in at top of white fleece. Cut along ruler with rotary cutter or scissors and remove cut piece. Repeat with opposite side of pinned fabric. Relocate pins, if necessary, and stitch along cut sides using a sewing machine, leaving a 1/4-to-1/2-inch seam allowance. Repeat along bottom of fabric, leaving enough space unstitched to turn inside out and fill with fiber fill.
Fill pillow with fiber fill, ensuring corners are filled. Stitch opening close using a whip stitch.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: There’s so many different colors of candy corn available now that it would be fun to adjust the colors of the fleece to match your favorite flavor.
