CARAMEL APPLE DUMP CAKE

Not only is this one of the easiest desserts you’ll ever make, it’s one of the tastiest, too. You’ll feel like you’re bitting into a delicious caramel apple in every bite.


Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 45 minutes

Servings: 8-10


Ingredients:

  • 2 21 ounce cans apple pie filling
  • 11 ounces Caramel Bits
  • 15.25 ounce box spice cake mix
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Prepare 9-by-13 inch baking dish by spraying with cooking spray. Pour apple pie filling into baking dish and spread into single layer with spoon. Sprinkle Caramel Bits evenly on top of pie filling. Top with cake mix and spread into single layer with spoon. Evenly place butter on top of cake mix.

Bake until edges are bubbling and top is golden brown, about 45 minutes. Let cool slightly. Serve with ice cream, if desired.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: While we like using the spice cake mix for this recipe, a yellow cake mix would work, as well. If you substitute the cake mix, we suggest stirring in about 1/4 teaspoon of ground allspice and ground cinnamon to the apple pie filling before topping it with the Caramel Bits.
