Larger than life conversation hearts make the perfect garland for Valentine’s Day. With a few simple supplies, you’ll have a fun and creative idea that you’re sure to fall madly in love with.
- Heart Template
- White cardstock
- Pastel cardstock (we used something similar to this)
- Single hole punch
- Red permanent marker (we used this one)
- Red yarn
Print Heart Template onto sheet of white cardstock using pencil. Cut out with scissors.
Using your Heart Template as a guide, trace hearts onto back side of pastel cardstock with pencil. Cut out with scissors. Using a single hole punch, punch a hole in each peak of heart.
Write conversation hearts sayings on front side of hearts in all capital letters with red permanent marker.
Thread yarn down and back up through holes of each heart. One all hearts are threaded, cut remaining loose extra yarn and tie knots on both ends. Arrange hearts in desired locations on yarn.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: This same idea can be used to decorate bedroom or classroom walls. Trace, write on and cut out the hearts but don’t punch holes into them for yarn. Hang them with painter’s tape and let everyone see how creative you are.
