We love the warm and cozy sweater vibes we’re getting from these easy-to-make DIY pumpkins.
Supplies:
- Foam craft balls in desired sizes
- Serrated knife
- Thick wooden dowel
- Cozy Wool yarn (we used Golden Rod and Fleece)
- 12-inch upholstery needle
- Needle threader (optional)
- Scissors
- Wooden stick, trimmed to desired length for stem
- Hot glue gun (optional)
- Glue sticks (optional)
Directions:
Using serrated knife, carefully remove top and bottom of foam ball. Push wooden dowel through center of flat side of ball to create a hole.
Pull a large amount of yarn from skein and thread end through eye of needle, using needle threader, if necessary. Begin wrapping yarn around foam ball by pulling yarn up through center hole then looping around outside. Repeat previous step, pulling yarn tight as you wrap around ball. Once you reach the end of what was pulled out, cut yarn from skein and push into “bottom” of ball, tucking behind yarn in center. Pull additional yarn from skein and repeat previous steps until outside of ball has been completely covered with yarn.
Push wooden stick into center hole on “top” of pumpkin. If desired, apply hot glue to end of stick prior to inserting into ball.
Enjoy!
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Honestly, any type of yarn can be used. We love the rustic feel of the wool yarn, though.
