Moss balls are an easy way to add a natural and organic touch to your home decor. With just a few supplies, you’ll have a simple and easy-to-make DIY that friends and family will swear was professionally made.
- Green preserved forest moss
- Large bowl
- Styrofoam balls
- Craft glue (we used Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue)
Place moss in large bowl and break apart with hands.
Using a paintbrush, spread a layer of craft glue all over styrofoam ball. Drop ball into bowl of moss. Wash and dry hands.
Press moss onto ball with hands, ensuring ball is completely covered. Continue pressing until moss is tightly compacted on ball. Let dry completely. Trim off longer strands of moss with scissors.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: While the moss is a beautiful shade of green, the color does slightly come off onto your hands as you work with it. While it will wash off, we suggest wearing disposable gloves if you worry about the dye on your hands. Be sure to switch to a new set of gloves when the directions call to wash your hands.
