FISH BAG SOAP

Kids will be absolutely thrilled to take these adorable fish friends home with them. Scrub-a-dub-dub, there’s a fish in the tub.

Supplies:

  • Clear plastic bag, measuring 4 inches wide by 6-8 inches tall
  • Tall drinking glass
  • Clear glycerin soap
  • Heat-resistant measuring cup
  • Plastic fish
  • Twist tie
  • Clothespin (optional)
  • String

Directions:

Open the plastic bag and place it in a tall drinking glass. Place 2-3 ounces of clear glycerin soap in a heat-resistant measuring cup and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds. If necessary, continue heating in 10-second intervals until the glycerin has completely melted. This can also be accomplished with a double boiler.

Pour the melted glycerin into the bag and allow to soft set for approximately 30 minutes. Place the fish in the bag, pressing slightly into the soap to ensure the fish stands on it’s own. Melt an additional 2-3 ounces of clear glycerin soap and pour into the bag, covering the fish. Gather the bag above the soap and secure with a twist tie. If desired, secure top of the bag to top of the drinking glass with a clothespin to ensure the bag doesn’t settle when soap sets. Allow to cool and set completely.

Remove clothespin and twist tie and secure with string.

Enjoy!

STAY SAFE: Glycerin soap is extremely hot when melted.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Threading a customized gift tag on the string can make this a fun party favor for kids.
