Bring the beauty of Spring to your Easter decor with these delightful egg bud vases. With a beautiful flower peeking out the top of each, these chic egg planters would be a welcome addition to your home.
- Large fresh eggs
- Acrylic paint in desired colors
- Egg cups/egg carton
- White decorative sand
- Artificial flowers
- Wire cutters (optional)
Carefully remove top of egg by cracking the tip and carefully removing broken pieces with knife. Place contents of egg in a bowl and reserve for later use. Repeat with remaining eggs. Fully rinse eggs with hot water and invert onto towel. Let dry completely.
Paint exterior of dried egg shells. If necessary, repeat with additional coats until surface is fully covered. Let dry completely.
Place eggs in egg cups or egg carton so they stand upright. Using a funnel, fill each egg nearly to the top with sand. Place artificial flower(s) in each egg, trimming stem with wire cutters, if necessary.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: While we used artificial flowers so they wouldn’t need replacing, beautiful fresh flowers would be an exquisite substitute. We suggest punching a hole into the bottom of each eggshell and filling with soil instead of sand if using fresh flowers.
