Bring the not-so-spooky fun outside with this adorable terracotta pumpkin DIY. It’s so simple that the kiddos will want to help, too.
- Terracotta pot
- Black acrylic paint
- Varnish (optional)
- Wooden stick, trimmed to desired length for stem
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Artificial leaves
Remove any debris from exterior of terracotta pot. Rotate pot so that the open top is setting on work surface.
Paint desired jack-o’-lantern face on exterior of pot using black paint and brush. Let dry completely. If desired, apply a coat of varnish and let dry completely.
Select a wooden stick that is thick enough to cover hole on bottom (now top) of pot. Apply a generous amount of hot glue around hole and place stick on top to create stem. Let dry completely. Using hot glue, attach artificial leaves to pot around stem. Let dry completely.
STAY SAFE: Please ensure this DIY is done in a well-ventilated area.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: This DIY can be done with any flower pot but we like how the terracotta resembles the traditional color of a pumpkin.
