This rustic wooden sign reminds us to give thanks for the little (but no less important) things in life. With an adorable bird made of natural materials nestled on top, this sign serves as a daily inspiration to be thankful for what you hold dear to your heart.

  • 11-by-11 inch wooden framed sign (we used this one from Walnut Hollow)
  • Acrylic paint in dark brown
  • Paintbrush
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Natural lowercase wooden letters in GIVE THANKS
  • Craft glue (we used Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue)
  • Wooden leaves (which can be found at your local craft store)
  • Small decorative bird

Paint inset of one side of wooden frame with brown paint, leaving frame unpainted. Let dry completely.

Cut a piece of cardboard with scissors to create a guide for when placing letters. Using cardboard, place and glue wooden letters in desired locations with craft glue. Let dry completely.

Place wooden leaves in desired locations, leaving space for decorative bird on upper right corner of frame. Once leaves have been set, glue in place. Let dry completely.

Place a large dollop of glue on upper right corner of frame and press bird down to secure. Let dry completely.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: We found a variety pack of 36 wooden letters at our local craft store, which was great because it contained all of the letters we needed and cost about the price of two letters, if purchased individually.
