We love finding fun and unique ways to decorate our home for the seasons and this centerpiece featuring fresh gourds is one of our favorites.
- Fresh gourds of various sizes
- Cutting board
- Sharp knife
- Melon baller
- Shot glasses
- Small drinking or dessert glasses
- Fresh fall flowers and berries
- Pruning shears
- Waterproof wood charger or lazy susan
- Artificial fall leaf garland
Lay medium size gourd on flat work surface. Using knife, carefully cut small amount off bottom of gourd, allowing it to stand. Carefully cut desired amount from top of gourd, ensuring that cut surface is wider than rim of shot glass.
Scoop out enough from inside of gourd so that shot glass snugly fits inside. Place shot glass in gourd. Set aside. Repeat previous steps with desired remaining gourds.
Fill shot glasses and drinking glasses with water. Cut flowers and berries and arrange in gourds and glasses.
To create centerpiece, place charger or lazy susan in middle of table. Drape garland across table and over charger. Arrange gourds on charger. Tuck gourds and glasses into garland.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Be VERY careful when cutting your gourds as the skin is typically a little on the thicker side and can be harder to cut.
