What better way to get kids involved in the garden than with their own custom tools? Let their little green thumb flourish and the fun begin.
Supplies:
- Children’s garden tools
- Painter’s tape
- Sandpaper (optional)
- Damp cloth (optional)
- Primer
- Paintbrush
- Acrylic paint
- Varnish (optional)
Directions:
With painter’s tape, cover all parts you will not be painting on garden tools.
If the parts being painted are wooden, lightly sand them with sandpaper then wipe with a damp cloth to remove any sawdust, if desired.
Apply a coat of primer on the exposed parts of the tools and allow to dry completely. Once the primer has dried, apply a coat of paint. Let dry completely, then repeat with additional coats of paint, if necessary. If desired, apply a coat of varnish and let dry completely.
Enjoy!
STAY SAFE: Please ensure this DIY is done in a well-ventilated area.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: A watering can, painted to match the other garden tools, would make an adorable addition.
