Serve your drinks in style with this tribute to the Sunshine State. That tropical drink will taste even better when resting on this irresistible DIY.
Supplies:
- Round unfinished wooden plaque
- Sandpaper
- Primer
- Paint in white, orange and cream
- Brush
- Varnish (optional)
- Electric drill
- Screwdriver
- 2 handles
- 4 screws
Directions:
Lightly sand wooden plaque with sandpaper then wipe with a damp cloth to remove any sawdust.
Apply a coat of primer and allow to dry completely.
Once the primer has dried, apply a coat of white paint over the entire plaque. Let dry completely, then repeat with additional coats of paint, if necessary. Paint about 1 inch of orange around the top of the plaque, along with the edge and bottom. Paint six orange triangles, to resemble orange slices, in the center, leaving about 1/2 to 3/4 inch of white on all sides. Let dry completely, then repeat with additional coats of paint, if necessary. Using a pointed-tip brush, paint “seeds” in various spots inside orange triangles using cream paint. Let dry completely.
If desired, apply a coat of varnish and let dry completely.
Using an electric drill and screwdriver, attach handles on opposite sides of the top.
Enjoy!
STAY SAFE: Please ensure this DIY is done in a well-ventilated area.
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: If you’re having trouble finding an unfinished wooden plaque, a round bamboo or wooden cutting board would work, as well.
