Our bird friends will be in for a treat with this birdseed-covered pinecone. It’s so simple to make and kids will have a great time helping with it.

  • Pinecone
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Rubber scraper
  • Birdseed

Wrap a long length of twine about 1-inch down from top of pinecone and double knot. Tie another double knot with ends of twine. Trim excess twine.

Using a rubber scraper, coat all sides of pinecone with peanut butter.

Roll pinecone in birdseed, ensuring all peanut butter is coated. Sprinkle any exposed peanut butter with birdseed.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Depending on the size of your pinecone, you may need thicker twine or string to ensure it’s secure and doesn’t fall or break.

Pinecone Birdfeeder segment begins at 31 minutes 56 seconds.
