One of Charlotte’s favorite parts of our afternoon rainstorms is looking for rainbows after. With this adorable rainstick, she can have both.

  • Small branch
  • Pruning shears
  • Paper towel roll
  • Washi tape in rainbow colors
  • Scissors
  • Beans/rice

Using pruning shears, trim branch so that it fits snuggly inside paper towel roll. Set branch aside.

Separate washi tape into rainbow color order. Cover one end of paper towel roll by creating starburst pattern with first color’s washi tape. Wrap washi tape around side, creating three rows of each color, working in rainbow color order. Once you’ve reached the final color, insert brach back into roll and pour in desired amount of beans or rice. Cover open end with starburst pattern of remaining color’s washi tape, then cover side with same tape.

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Be sure to not add too much beans or rice to your paper towel roll otherwise you won’t acheive a rain effect.
