We love taking everyday items like soda bottles and turning them into something fun and unique – like these vases.
Supplies:
- Clear glass soda bottles (we used Cheerwine soda)
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton balls
- Painter’s tape
- Brown kraft paper
- Acrylic paint in desired colors
- Paintbrushes
Directions:
Remove labels, if any, from soda bottle. Wash with warm soapy water, ensuring any sticky residue is removed. Let bottle dry completely.
Rub exterior of bottle with cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol and allow to air dry. Wrap painter’s tape around bottle in desired locations to create stripes. Firmly press tape onto bottle.
Paint untaped exterior of bottle with acrylic paint in desired locations, applying additional coats, if necessary. Let dry completely.
Happy crafting, friends!
ORANGE & FIELD TIP: Make sure you firmly press the painter’s tape onto the bottle. This will prevent the paint from bleeding underneath it.
