VALENTINE DOUBLE WREATH

While we love floral wreaths, we wanted to do something a little different for Valentine’s Day. This simple DIY is a unique way to welcome the season of romance into your home.

Supplies:

  • 2 small canvas hearts
  • Permanent marker (we used purple)
  • Ribbon (we used 3 different sizes)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • 2 styrofoam extruded wreaths/rings in different sizes
  • Greening pins

Directions:

Decorate two canvas hearts of the same size using desired color permanent marker. Lay both hearts, decorated sides down, on work surface. Cut 12-inch length of small ribbon. Place hot glue on wrong sides of hearts and position ribbon at top center of one, about 1 inch in. Let dry completely. Set aside.

Place a line of hot glue on one side of wreath. Place end of ribbon on hot glue and let dry completely. Wrap ribbon around wreath in clockwise motion, slightly overlapping ribbon on itself. Continue until wreath has been completely covered, wrapping a second time if necessary to cover color of wreath. Cut ribbon and secure on backside of wreath with hot glue. Let dry completely. Repeat with second wreath. We used large ribbon on larger wreath and medium ribbon on smaller wreath.

Position heart in center of smaller wreath and carefully secure ribbon to backside of wreath using greening pin, ensuring not to push pin through. Place dab of hot glue over greening pin and let dry completely. Trim excess ribbon.

Position smaller heart inside larger heart, backsides facing up. Cut 18-inch length of smaller ribbon and secure one end to backside of smaller wreath, just under greening pin, with hot glue. Let dry completely. Wrap ribbon around front of wreath and create a medium-size loop. Trim excess ribbon. Secure end of ribbon on top of greening pin with hot glue. Carefully insert greening pin into backside of larger wreath at top of loop and secure with dab of hot glue. Trim excess ribbon from top of loop.

Cut desired length of ribbon long enough to hang wreath. Form into loop and secure ends to backside of larger wreath on top of greening pin with hot glue. Let dry completely.

Enjoy!

ORANGE & FIELD TIP: We used green styrofoam wreaths but you could also use white ones if you plan on using lighter colored ribbons.
